Funny Pets - Funny Pet Pictures |

Our family has always had dogs, from the time I was a little boy and my mother brough home a little black mixed-poodle from the pet store. I was only six-years-old, and I was fascinated by this gentle little animal who spent the first week hiding underneath my parent's vibrant green couch. But it wasn't long after that when this shy little animal became comfortable with our family, and soon spent her afternoons snuggling on the couch with my mother while she watched her daytime soaps.
That loving little pet has been gone for quite some time, and now my family and I have a loyal, loving Australian Shepherd that my wife bought (adopted) from a local dog breeder. My wife saw the puppies for sale sign on the side of the road, and she knew that I had wanted another dog since my good friend Fresco, a sheltie, had died at the ripe old age of sixteen--not bad for a collie breed dog.
At first I was a little shocked at this black, white, and brown creature that was sleeping on our living room carpet. I had not expected my family to surprise me with a new pet, and I didn't know that I was ready for a new canine friend, but I quickly grew to love and appreciate this new four-legged puppy who found his way into our home and into our hearts.

Persian cats still have some power of Purr-suasion over me
My wife is a huge fan of cats--almost to the point that we can no longer visit the humane societies because she becomes so attached to every little cat and kitten and wants to adopt them all and take them back home. We've had four cats in the past few months, two of which now reside with her parents. They're all cute little creatures for sure, but unless the cat is some incredible breed, like a Persian cat or a Norwegian Forest cat, my temptation to adopt is much easier to resist than my wife's.
My affection for Persian cats started when I was a teenager, and I was presented with a little Persian kitten when I moved into my first apartment. I'd never really owned a cat before, living and growing up in a dog-loving home, so I was a little resistant to this grey little puffball. Oh sure, I quickly warmed up to this little guy when he would always jump up on my lap for a snuggle and a purr. It was hard not to love this fluffy creature, especially when it acted loyal and loving--much like a dog!

Read About How To Handle Living With Your Dog
Adopting a dog comes as no small decision for you and your family. Inviting a new (canine) member into your family can be an enormous responsibility, but it can also be very rewarding, as dogs are very loving and loyal animals, and the friendships are always very satisfying. But along with the new dog comes many questions, including what to feed him, how to train him, how much exercise to give him, where to let him sleep, and many other questions related to socializing, diet, and other conduct. There are many great resources, including one interesting book: How To Handle Living With Your Dog, a publication filled with a lot of useful advice on living with your new pet.
This dog book by Short Stack Publishing (home of the How to Handle Series), can explain some of the challenges of dog obedience, dog behaviour, and other dog issues that you may come across when you are familiarizing yourself with your home's new dog.

Dog lovers come in all shapes and sizes, and it is curious that there are always comparisons between the dogs and their owners. Maybe how we choose our pets is a sub-conscious decision, and really we are picking out animals that represent our personalities, or maybe our physical traits, which might explain why so many dogs look like their owners (or vice versa).
Whether it's a chubby old man with his scruffy English bulldog, a shaggy-haired teenager with his poofy-maned Komondor, or a long-faced woman with her Doberman Pinscher, there can be many similarities noticed between the dog and the owner.
While it might not be polite to point out to your friend that she looks just like her chihuahua, or her sons look just like a pair of boxers, the canine kind not the fighters, there might just be some cosmic influence that makes us associate better with dogs (or cats?) that look like four-legged representations of ourselves. Is it some anthropomorphic coincidence that your girlfriend's curly locks look similar in colour and texture to her cockerspaniel, Derek? According to science, we aren't that much removed from our animal cousins--don't we share 97% of our DNA with monkeys???

If you've ever been introduced to your friends' children and then to their pets, you might sometimes think that the parents had spent more time considering what to name the dog than what to name the child. When the kids' name is Charles or Michael, but the dog's name is Sir Woofington Bowserfield the Third, you know on whom which the real creative thinking was done. But seriously, if more of us had the guts to name our children with the same frivolity and fun that we do when we go about coming up with dog names the world might be just a little bit more fun in which to live.
However, for some of us, it can be a bit more of a challenge coming up with a suitable name for their dog or cat. While we sometimes like to define our animals with a great pet name, often we saddle the animals with rather ordinary names like Spot, Scruffy, Blackie, or Buttons. We can't all have the creative talents to name our dog Bowsy McSchnauser, but there are many websites available (much like baby name sites) that can offer a little bit of assistance when it comes to attaching a name to your new puppy or kitty.
Whether you are searching for a popular dog name, or you wish to find something unique, pet name websites can help you find a suitable name for your dog, whether it's a male or a female, young or old.
Don't forget to have some fun when it comes to finding a suitable name to get etched on the doggie collar. Your pet will be a valuable member of your family, and when you need to call him, it better be a name that is worth answering the call, for your sake and your dog's! |

Funny Pet Poem |
|
My little funny pet likes to play;
Frolicking, scampering, and being cute all day.
Playing with yarn and chasing balls;
My funny pet is here to stay. |
