Buying A New Puppy Privately

Our family has always had dogs, from the time I was a little boy and my mother brough home a little black mixed-poodle from the pet store. I was only six-years-old, and I was fascinated by this gentle little animal who spent the first week hiding underneath my parent's vibrant green couch. But it wasn't long after that when this shy little animal became comfortable with our family, and soon spent her afternoons snuggling on the couch with my mother while she watched her daytime soaps.

That loving little pet has been gone for quite some time, and now my family and I have a loyal, loving Australian Shepherd that my wife bought (adopted) from a local dog breeder. My wife saw the puppies for sale sign on the side of the road, and she knew that I had wanted another dog since my good friend Fresco, a sheltie, had died at the ripe old age of sixteen--not bad for a collie breed dog.

At first I was a little shocked at this black, white, and brown creature that was sleeping on our living room carpet. I had not expected my family to surprise me with a new pet, and I didn't know that I was ready for a new canine friend, but I quickly grew to love and appreciate this new four-legged puppy who found his way into our home and into our hearts.

This might have been a lucky match--who would expect that you would find the perfect match from a roadside puppies for sale sign in the middle of a suburban town? Usually when people have dogs for sale privately, you wonder about the breeding practices of the dog owners, the health of the puppies, the environment that they are bred in, and other conditions that could endanger the life of the animal. I suppose the same could be said for many pet stores, or even the local pounds and animal societies, but you have to place your trust somewhere, and after a couple of veterinary visits for our new puppy, we were assured that he was in the best of health, something that he has proven to use now for the past two years!

If you are looking to buy or adopt a dog, certainly you want to do all of your homework when it comes to breed, temperament, and other factors that will influence how this pet will fit with your family. But don't discount those roadside pets for sale signs on the side of the road, because you might just be pleasantly surprised with what you will find--like a new puppy that will change your life forever.

Funny Pet Poem
My little funny pet likes to play; Frolicking, scampering, and being cute all day. Playing with yarn and chasing balls; My funny pet is here to stay.
